Sterling Marine Services Signs on as Sponsor for 2012. Diving Service For WIRW

Sterling Marine Services is a family-owned and operated business located in Ballard, WA. We provide clients in the greater Puget Sound area with an integrated package of competitively-priced underwater services.

Our divers’ extensive experience in the Puget Sound maritime industry gives us the competitive edge we need to take your project to the next level. We currently provide underwater services to clients in the Elliott Bay, Shilshole Bay, Lake Washington, Lake Union, Hood Canal, Tacoma, Edmonds, San Juan Islands, Bainbridge Island, and Poulsbo regions and are constantly looking to bring our services to new waters. We specialize in project management, ships husbandry, underwater HD video inspections, marine salvage, houseboat flotation, helix mooring systems, and vessel maintenance.

Anode Replacement: We stock a large array of zinc anodes, magnesium anodes, and aluminum anodes. We have the experience and knowledge to install anodes on sailboats, powerboats, max props, piers and other custom applications. A maintenance schedule is available for this service.

Hull Cleaning: You don’t have to be a hardcore racing team to want your bottom cleaned. Cleaning your hull, whether it be a carbon fiber racer or steel cruiser, can increase your vessel’s performance in numerous ways. A maintenance schedule is available as well as “frequent cleaner discounts.”

Salvage: Our divers are happy to recover your dropped items, may they be as small as a tool or as large as a boat. We strongly suggest contacting us as soon as possible as recovery chances diminish as time goes on. Rapid deployment is available.

Inspections: We are equipped with the technology necessary to inspect and document a wide variety of structures including hulls, piers, houseboats, and waterfront homes and businesses. Need documentation for insurance purposes, construction and repair planning, or damage control? We’ve got you covered. HD quality video is our specialty.

Thrive Community Fitness is onboard as a new sponsor.

Thrive Community Fitness

Thrive Community Fitness was founded in 2001 with a vision to make fitness a way of life for people of all abilities and fitness levels. Although it all started out of a single fitness center in the small town of Duvall, Washington, now known as “Thrive Duvall”, Thrive Community Fitness now serves seven communities in Washington State.

Our company’s growth and success can be attributed to outstanding service, convenient locations and hours, great equipment, affordable pricing, knowledgeable staff and above all a family focused atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

At the heart of Thrive is our commitment to giving back to the same communities that have been such a huge part of our success. We have the pleasure of being a part of so many fantastic programs and organizations. Some of the events we have been involved with are, Monroe’s annual “Downtown Hoops 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament & Festival in the Street”, assisting “The Miracle League” of Monroe to raise money for a new baseball field for handicapped and special needs children, American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” 24 hour cancer marathon, and a “12 Hour Relief Walk-A-Thon” for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita along with “Acres of Diamonds”, a transitional home for battered woman, in Duvall. We’ve also enjoyed participating in many other athletic teams, auctions and fundraisers in the communities we serve.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide our members with the highest standard of service, facilities, equipment and instruction at the best value possible. As a Christ Centered business, we strive to be an example to everyone we serve, as we lift up Jesus in our relationships with our members, employees, communities and vendors.

Our Vision

Thrive Community Fitness is a Christ Centered Company in the business of serving people. We desire to see Thrive Community Fitness in every community in the United States and throughout the rest of the world. Although we are a for profit business, our goals stretch much further to include re-investing in our communities.

Friday Racing

Today is the end of a great week long regatta. It is also looking like we may or may not have any wind. Many are praying to the wind gods to get one more in and those at the top of there classes are feeling secure about now.

Wind for the first day brought a delay for the start at noon. The fleet is in Penn Cove and many are working over to Coupville to get some extra beer or Ice Cream. The tradition of changing boat names once again happened last night and many are very interesting. Some not so PC and some just down right funny. I will post some pictures of the ones I can.

After 3 hours of drifting around Charley sounded the 3 hours and the sailing portion of the regatta is over….

Party will start at 6pm and awards shortly after.   Today is brought to you by Fisheries Supply and Pressure drop.us

Thursday Racing

Looks like we are going to be racing in Saratoga today. Southerly winds right now and it might switch to a Westerly in the afternoon. Tonight is Regae Night with Andy-O playing here and over at the Navy Base after our party.

Racing was great today! Nice easy southerly in Saratoga Passage all classes got two races in. Most were heading in about 4pm to the docks. Current was interesting today as it was fickle in the direction and strength. Making tactics a premium today. It will be interesting to here the stories at the evening party.

Today is brought to you by Ullman Sails.

Wednesday Racing

Today was a Saratoga Passage day with 5-10 knot winds from the south. Races started right at noon and we were able to get to good lighter air races in. Fun in the sun now as it has popped out for the later afternoon. The Party will start right at 6 pm tonight. Pictures to follow…..
